2025The House Between the Winds An outdoor installation comprising whimsical kinetic installations and a grand sailboat, brings to life the stories of the trees that built the nation

As part of the Singapore International Festival of Arts (SIFA) 2025, The House Between the Winds was comissioned under the festival’s child-friendly programming banner titled Little SIFA.

Conceived by sculptor Yang Jie, the public installation takes the plantations that gave Orchard Road its name as a point of departure, paying homage to the cash crops that were once vital to colonial Singapore’s economy in the 19th and early 20th century.
